Executive Overview
Naserian’s Heart of Healing Foundation was founded on the conviction that true community restoration begins with emotional and psychological healing. In many parts of Kajiado South, individuals and families navigate silent trauma—ranging from severe grief and family breakdown to the psychological aftermath of early marriage and FGM—without access to confidential or professional support.
The Isinet Centre was conceived not just as a physical facility, but as a community-owned sanctuary built on local trust, physical safety, and personal dignity.
Listening Before Building
Before drafting a single architectural blueprint, the foundation engaged in extensive dialogues with local elders, women leaders, youth representatives, and health officers. The design directly reflects three key priorities revealed during these sessions:
Stigma & Visual Confidentiality
Entryways and waiting spaces are positioned with natural visual screening and acoustic insulation so visitors can seek mental health support without fear of public judgment.
Cultural Resonance
Incorporates open-air, shaded outdoor reflection grounds alongside private indoor rooms to honor local traditions of outdoor community gathering.
Non-Clinical Youth Care
Designed with dedicated play and art therapy spaces, offering young people and children safe mediums to process trauma without feeling hospitalized.
